Centering Your Spirit: Meditation and Relaxation Many of us have become human "doings" instead of human "beings". Our hectic schedules often leave us exhausted and frustrated. This experiential workshop teaches participants simple methods for replenishing our energies, and then focusing that energy so that we become more effective partners, parents, workers, and friends. Using meditation and relaxation methods from many traditions, including Christian meditation, Buddhist meditation, Native American chanting, and African and Native American drumming, you are guided through a variety of techniques that encourage daily self-care. No previous experience with meditation is required, and those who already practice some sort of meditation and mindfulness will find kindred spirits! No musical talent is required either, and instruments can vary from elaborate drums to jars of beans! Bring: a mat or pillow; musical instrument if desired, and wear comfortable clothes. Bring a bagged lunch or lunch on your own.
