Rituals and Altars: Common Ground in the Everyday
Sacred
Rituals and Altars: Common Ground in the Everyday
Sacred is the second program in CroneWorks Practical
Spirituality Series. At the amazing "Peace" retreat
last fall, participants requested a spring offering, and
this is it! Participants are afforded a chance to
delve deeper into their Spiritual life, with a balance of
group experiences and quiet reflection time.
Mission Statement:
Many of us desire a sacred space in which
we can be still, pray, or enter into a realm of
consciousness that is different from the daily hustle and
bustle of our lives. We also wish to create meaningful
ceremonies that give comfort, solace, honor, offer
supplication, and give thanks. Two ways that we can
accomplish these desires are by creating altars and
developing rituals. This workshop honors all beliefs
as it provides methods for creating altars and rituals.
We explore many ways in which we can set an intention,
create sacred space, and develop rituals that enhance our
daily lives as we connect to what is sacred for each of us.
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this
workshop, you will be able to:
1. Define terms associated with
ritual and altar making.
2. Describe historical and cross-cultural components
of rituals and altars.
3. Create an altar that is meaningful and intentional.
4. Develop the components of ritual, and create a
ritual that is meaningful and intentional.
